Is the system of improvement exam practised by university of madras?

my brother has scored 43 percent in a mathematics paper in his end semester exams,he like to improve his score,is there a system of improvement exam in university of madras.

What are the procedures for revaluation?(this is a separate question),within how many days must he apply for revaluation?
