Is the term Black Hole as in black holes in outer space Racist?

as used in the article, no, i don't think it is racist.  if it had been used to describe something like urban decay or a bad neighborhood, it could be racist.  such as "harlem is a black hole, everything goes in, nothing comes out."  the double meaning here would be inexcusable.  

my washing machine acts like a black hole.  as evidence i present my sock drawers, one for pairs of socks, and one for unmatched socks.

is that really all you have to worry about? if you have to know, the answer is no. the term "black hole" refers to something akin to a deep abyss. something which is so deep or far away that  all light has been extinguished . all you would be able to see is black. it would be as if it were night.

No, the color black is actually what you see when an object absorbs all the color in the visible light spectrum. A black hole will absorb any and every thing within distance including light. It is a perfect name. Black people aren't really black and white people aren't really white.
