Sometimes I hear people talking about their dreams, and occasionally they'll say it's a "pipe dream". For example, "I want to become a famous movie director, but that's probably just a pipe dream."

Does "pipe dream" insinuate that the dream was inspired from smoking a pipe (marijuana)? And if so, does that imply that smoking marijuana can provide a person with inspiration and insight?
