Yes, the textile industry in Mumbai is on decline. Blame it on the shooting prices of Realty. The Mills' land is being developed into commercial or residential property for quick profits. Well, somewhere there is a desire to make Mumbai another Shanghai.

It has been on the decline for a few years now infact and that's because fabrics that come from china are far superior in terms of quality and also cheaper. There is no protection that small time textile operators get with respect to restriction on the flow of foreign materials

because the govt has imposed very much duty & restricition on the textile ind. The Wat & octroi has been increased on transfer of good .

com,paratively gujarat has less duty imposed so ind. are shifting to guj. side
