Is the the weather of Phuket, Thailand good for now?

We want to go to Thailand this summer (July-August). we thought that Phuket would be nice to go to, but we are unsure whether the weather is suitabe, we want it to be hot and exotic-no rain, we want to enjoy the beach and outdoor activites. If it is not warm which part of Thailand is?

If you want it hot and no rain then your need to come between Nov to April.  It is hot and little to no rain.  April is the hottest month.  But of course this is the high season and hotel and resort rates goes up like the temperature.

Hi. You might get afternoon rains and thunderstorms (which are generally fairly fun to watch) but I think it's a pretty good time of year to go.

How about visiting Samui? It's fairly sheltered on that side and you certainly won't get the sort of insane monsoon that strikes further north and west. Samui and neighbours normally have a different wet season - usually Oct into Jan. August tends to be a pretty nice month.

Koh Samui is a diver's haven. The warm, tropical waters and beautiful coral reefs off the island make it perfect for scuba diving, therefore, finding lesson and rental places on the island is no difficult feat. Walking, biking, and swimming are all popular outdoor activities whether it be beachside or in the jungle. Paths may change depending on the season, check with your hotel or tour group for the best open paths during your stay.

A great way to get about the island is in a "songathew". Songathews are large red trucks and are Ko Samui's answer to a bus system. These trucks only run regularly during the day and destinations are marked in English on the truck but please ask if they go to the destination advertised. Rides can be cheap running around 20-60 baht on the normal busy destination, i.e. Chaweng beach. They do not run how you may expect however, as they do not have any official stopping points. Do not be afraid to flag one down as it is the only way to catch one. Well you will hear them honking their horn every site of foreigner. Make sure to ring the bell when you need to depart. At night, they serve as taxis however, the rates go up significantly for any use.

If you want no rain it's not a good time to come. It's always warm but at least once a day heavy rainshowers. On top it's too dangerous to swim in the sea (strong waves,currents etc.) For what you are looking for you should visit between December till April.
