Is the time right?

With North America being the only country that does daylight savings time, is the time and year right?

When did they start doing that and why?

Does that conflict with the way time was told years ago (sundial)

  1. I live in England and we have daylight saving. I think it was introduced so that people would have more time to work when it was sunny- this changes in summer and winter- and was when people used to farm, so they needed sunlight to work.

  2. You should read the Wikipedia on this and it will answer your questions on the history of it.

They reason they invented it was to save daylight!  Duh!  It was so they could try and make the day seem by shifting the clock back or forth.

Day light savings always adds and subtracts 1 hour durring each year so it always balances it self back to where they started.

Keeping a set time is something man invented, it doesnt change how things happen naturally - it is just a way for us to relate things together.

  3. I have to beat you up a little, don't take it personally.

North America is not a country, and a similar thing is done in the UK at least, see first link, they refer to it as "summertime".

In the US it started during WW1, see second link for more than you ever wanted to know about it.

Using a sundial is tricky, many discrepancies need to be accounted for, like time of year, latitude of sundial and yes adjustments for "daylight time"
