Is the tranny gonna blow 2001 cobra?

Question

im looking to buy a 2001 cobra with a procharger super charger, a magna flow exhaust, it has 17343 miles and is being priced at $21852. Alot of people are telling me the tranny is gonna blow at 20 thousand miles but im not to sure. If ya think it will can you give me a good suggestion to get a new trans put in or ... yeah? any help?

send it off and have it rebuilt if it does have titanium gears put in it it will be less expensive than it is in my town any way have a pro do it its not simple job

oh it will be fine... lol i had a focus with over 300 hp at the wheels on a 4 speed durtec tranny lol... yes it was an 05 zx4 ses... LOL that car had over 100k (it was an state government car before i got it)   it had 143k on it when i was cut off on the interstate by a 18 wheeler and i rolled from 70 MPH  came out without an scratch :)

fords are really good and safe as well :)

maybe if its pushing 800hp...

honestly, with a high end 6 speed like that, the times that they blow up are under extreme force, really pushing it... if the mods have been there a while and the current owner has not broken anything i would expect many many miles from it...

the clutch however may wear fast on that car, but that depends on the driver.

you cant really put an expectation in miles on a manual transmission, automatics yes but not manuals.

If you install a P-1SC procharger, 42# injectors, and a good tune, you push around 450 hp and that tranny will hold that for a long time. I have several stangs with a lot more power than that and they hold up just fine. Just don't do too many burnouts. Have fun.
