  1. Yes it is, they said it on the news, and it won't be on

again until about next week cos the staff don't wanna

strike anymore cos the only get 20% of their salary

cos the BVG can't pay them any more without making

huge losses so the staff are fed up.

My friend comes to school with the BVG and she came

with the U-Bahn today and yesterday so I think yeah,

    it's over.

By the way: Why don't you check www.bvg.de or so for

    further info?

  2. yes it's over but i heard rumors that there is going to be another one, just smaller.

plus there is always the "notverkehr" where some busses drives every half hour, and the s-bahns still work. so it's still reeally easy to get around in the city.

  3. Well, a couple of hours ago, the unions said they were planning to start a strike on Tuesday, April 1st.

Now, only a couple of minutes ago, the official Berlin transport website came with a breaking news story, saying the strike had been averted.

Mind you, it is April 1st, so anything you read on a website could be a hoax, since even newspapers in Germany do hoaxes on that day. If, however, the strike is not starting Tuesday, it may well start at a later date - so make sure you keep an eye on the newspapers, because German unions announce all their bigger strikes in advance.

  4. At the moment there is no strike. It seems they found an solution.

  5. Yes, it's over, for the time being. Don't worry, as your mobile phone will work, and taxi drivers will be happy to get you to any destination you'll like.

  6. The latest News is the strike is over sorry link is in German
