  1. I know that when the Barmy Army were out here in Australia last summer for the cricket that they had a trumpet player with them and he was banned from playing in some venues because some stuffed shirts didn't like the noise

I'm sure he had played professionally and when we did have the chance to hear him he was very good

No doubt the Barmy Army have moved on France and i wouldn't be surprised if it was the same trumpet player you're hearing

I think the song you're referring to is "Bolero" and it was one of his favourites

google barmy army and see what you find

  2. If you have watched games in France, you would have seen the bands that attend. Colorful dress and vast array of instruments. So it is probably not a recording, but actual persons somewhere in the stands.

  3. I'm not sure about all the games, but I have seen people playing the trumpet in a couple of games when the cameras have zoomed onto them.  I think that they have a couple of people playing?  Can't remember as I didn't take much notice at the time - but definately saw them!

  4. Definitively it was a recording.

I've been in Marseille for ITA-NZA and St.Etienne for ITA-SCO and I can confirm that.

It's a recorded tune played by the organizers every time some points were scored, just before the re-starting kick.

  5. i think its probably some one with an air horn in a can
