Question:

Is the two prong power supply the reason my 360 is broke?

Hi. My original power supply had three prongs, and broke. About a month ago, I bought a new power supply of ebay, which had two prongs, and when i turned on the console, i got the three red lights. I sent away to get it repaired, and Microsoft delivered me a brand new console today. I turn it on, and again, the three red lights. I heard that the power supply with two prongs is for the new elite versions, and the three prongs is for the old versions.

If so, is that the reason why my Xbox won't work, because I;m using the wrong power supply?

Please help, and thanks

  1. Well i own an xbox 360 premium with a 2 prong power supply which came with it when i bought it and it works fine.

Its definitely a possibility that your power block is just messed up

if the console you got was brand new and it broke

I would probably change power blocks just in case .

other than that, that's just bad luck =(

I'm working on learning how to repair the rrod right now and the new 360s that are coming soon are going to have a chip that is supposed to fix that problem  (there already in the halo versions of 360s)

sorry i couldn't be more help

    Good luck
