Is the ubiquitous fold-up directors chair still a common sight on film sets?

  1. The chair still exists, but they rarely say DIRECTOR anymore and there are usually a lot more for the rest of the crew as well.  It's more about them being such an easy chair to fold up and take to different locations more than anything.


  2. Yes i have one and its the most comfortable chair ive ever had.Ilike to think that i am some big shot directer

I'd have to say no; today's film-makers are a whole new breed.  I don't think they even sit down anymore.  Watch any number of bonus material on one of your DVD's at home and you always see those guys on their feet, standing behind a computer screen or even up off of the ground to be where ever the camera is filming the shot.
