My Personal Opinion: No we arn't free at all. We may be a little but never compltetly. If we were free there would be violence everyday And no money people would steal and not get in trouble.

  1. no we are like the fiftieth most free country in the world.  The Netherlands are up at the top.

  2. NO, just licensed.

  3. no yes yes no yes

  4. no were are not free, mostly slaves

  5. yes, we are free, but not as free as we used to be.  our freedoms are slowly being taken away from us and we're told it's in our best interest.  freedom means we have the right to decide what is in our best interest.  if they truly want to do what is in our best interest get out of our personal life and stop others (banks, cr card companies, oil companies, etc) from ripping people off.  after all they get the big tax breaks and the low interest rates, etc.

  6. what it means by free is you can do what ever you want

  7. Nobody in the world is 100% free because that would be total anarchy but the US is the freest country in the world so it you don't like it your going to have a hard time finding it anywhere else.

  8. When segments of America are Denied Equal Access to Attorneys, the Courts, BECAUSE of Race, Creed, Color, National Origin or gender.... No It is Not Free and is in Fact a regressive, oppressive government.  When the pursuit of happiness and all of the Bill of Rights, the amendments and the United States Constitution disregarded No It is Not A Free Nation.  It is Masquerading as one.

  9. no matter what kind of gvt there is there will always be violence and crime because there is always poverty, especially when the economy is based on capitalism and because of pure human nature, not every person is honest to his brother.

but i do agree with you, the us isnt completely free, but remember there needs to be laws to keep chaos from taking over

  10. Well, freedom without any restrictions at all could be like a child without any supervision.

A child might think its a good idea to run into the street, but he is prevented by his mother who is infringing on his right to run into the street, though she is simultaneously infringing the right of the oncoming car to kill her child .

Some responsibility is required for freedom to exist in a society with more than one person.  In some situations, which we see every day, those who are irresponsible inhibit the freedom of others to life or property, and for those irresponsible people we agree to have laws preventing them, if possible, and punishing them if necessary for their actions.

We have our Constitution, and even more importantly our Bill of Rights, which give us some of the tools we need to protect our individual freedoms. Those aren't the only tools we need to do this. We need to use our wits, our lips and our guts to make it work. We can't sit quietly by and let those liberties disappear.

We have been, for the last few years, but we have to come to the point where we'll say "I'll go this far and no farther".

  11. You are free to live your life the way you'd like and to do your best to achieve your dreams.  You are not free to take those freedoms away from others (which is what violence and theft would be doing).

  12. Obviously you have not been to a lot of third world countries. I have, and believe me, we are SO free.

  13. NO ITS NOT FREE IF IT REALLY WAS "FREE" THEN THEIR WOULDNT BE SO MUCH DISCRIMINATION GOING ON AND ALSO IF IT WAS THE LAND OF OPPURTUNITY LIKE PEOPLE SAY THEN WHY ARE THEN TREATING ALL THE ILEGAL IMMIGRANTS LIKE ANIMALS WHEN ALL THEYRE DOING IS TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING WHILE PEOPLE WHO ARE KILLING INNOCENT CHILDREN ARE GETTING OFF DA HOOK BY PAYING A SIMPLE FINE??

  14. Having laws allow us to be free.  People have to make sure they don't cause harm to others or their property and to me, is the purpose of laws.
