  1. in a nutshell.......the universe is still expanding but however you could not tell how big it is......if you consider sun to be a grain of sand thaen the universe would be the size of china!!!!!!!!!!!....it is endless

  2. no way of knowin' until now

  3. no way of knowing

  4. The big bang didn't bang into an empty void. There was nothing at all before the big bang, not even empty space. The space was created during the bang and was very small at the start. The space expanded, but it didn't expand into anything. It was finite at the start and is still finite, but there is nothing outside of it.

Think of a  computer game. You have a little pacman-type character who moves across the screen. When he goes off the right-hand side, he reappears on the left. When he goes off the top of the screen, he reappears at the bottom. As far as he is concerned, his universe is infinite, in that he can go on for ever in a straight line, but it is finite in area. He could paint the screen, and after a while he would have painted all of it. There is no "outside the screen" for the pacman.

Our universe is like that. It's finite but there's nothing outside it.

  5. I dont usually copy and paste addys,  but i can only say that it seems the jury is still out, that it is not known,   there are different views,

    good luck  ;)

  6. www.sciencedaily.com

    OK.............

  7. The popular theory is that the universe began with the Big Bang and has been constantly expanding since then, and at some point it will begin to shrink again. So in other words it is finite in terms of both time and space. But it is still only a theory, so no one actually knows for sure.

  8. Still possible, but unlikely. The problem is, that our own view of the universe has a horizon, which will not be the same for other places in the universe. We can't tell, because we can't see beyond that horizon.

  9. According to Inflation Theory, the universe is either infinite or mind-boggling large (larger than anyone can conceive). Data from the WMAP satellite appears to corroborate this idea. Basically, if the Observable Universe (the bit that we can see) were the size of a proton, the actual universe would be as big as the Observable Universe. The observable universe is approximately 90 billion light years in diameter, so you can see how jaw-droppingly large a universe created by Inflation could be.
