  1. It couldn't hurt.

  2. I wish more people would do that. It would make the world more accepting of others backgrounds.

  3. I think so I was raised that all skin colors and religions are the same equal and you should never discriminate. and having mixed dolls for my daughter will help her with that I had both black and white barbie's I wish they had dolls of two races the only doll that way that I know of is the Kimora Lee Simmons barbie she is black and asian and I bought one for my daugther she noticed right away that her new doll was different from her others she asked me and she's only 3 why did her doll look different and I explained it to her.

  4. The best way to teach children to culturally diverse is to have them watch their parents & the adults in their life interacting with people different than them in a positive manner.

  5. As a white girl growing up in an all white town (seriously). My parents made a point of buying me dolls of different ethnicities and we went to cultural fairs at our nearby college. I think it's very effective as long as good information goes along with it.

  6. No. I have notice school books are using weird names that kids can't even use to be diverse. It is annoying

  7. maybe. or you could encourage them to ask questions, and prepare to know the answers (why is that woman a different color? its to protect her babies from the sun where her ancestors lived... its vital to know the answers!)

  8. i think so.  it's funny, when i was growing up i had white dolls and black dolls, and my niece (who is mixed) has white dolls, black dolls AND latino looking dolls (as that ironically most closely matches her) but NONE of my white friends had black dolls.  you'd figure if they had black friends they would have black dolls, so their white dolls too could have black friends.  (not to get too confusing).  but yeah, i'd really think i'd help.  though i'd help even more to have a black doll or asian doll, etc with black or  features, etc.
