  1. You should take the same precautions in São Paulo and other big cities in Brazil as you would in New York, Los Angeles, London or any other global megacity.

The hoopla over the gang violence, which produced great images for television that were broadcast around the world, was indeed overdone. For a discussion of those incidents, including a US consulate alert released at the time, follow the link below.

  2. Yes, São Paulo have serious problem in relation of violence. But, we in Brazil don't live in war how you thing. Our lifes are normal. Just happen problems how in many city in your country.

Brazil don't is only São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, exist many city here, and its is great and don't have violence.

  4. Problem? My God, you name it!!!

violence, rape, robbery, cruelty. Can you imagine 11 milion people at the same place and 30% unemployed?

  5. Somewhat, I think they are just trying to compete with Rio de Janeiro's reputation...there is definitely violence but not like what is going on in Rio right now,  with the new governor taking over since the beginning of the year, the drug lords and criminals are rebelling against his taking office.
