  1. It is a total vag vehicle. Any man driving one should question his sexuality. About as masculine a Scion tC

  2. no guys drive jettas all the time i got one

  3. somewhat, but it isn't in the same league as a new beetle or a celica gt, though.

  4. No.  Why do people like you, are so concerned if a car is a "chick" car.  Are you that insecure, that you cannot man up and buy the car you like without getting any sort of ridicule from your so-called friends?

  5. Come on, let be honest here, no single car can really be classified as a true chick car.  It is how the owner "dress" the car that makes it what it is.  I personally drive a 2007 VW Jetta 2.5 Premium sedan, love it to death, best vehicle I ever owned ( despite ttdsgnr5's comment ... I have friends who have owned GTi and Jetta for a longer period of time than those who owns domestic and Japanese vehicle ).

At the same time, I got a female friend who also owns a white '07 VW Jetta like mine, and you can see clearly which one is mine and which one is her, as mine sits on 18" alloys, electronics inside; while hers is plain with some pink here and there.  My younger sister has a 2005 VW Beetle and I personally won't drive it if I had a choice, she has a flower in the vase on the dash, pink fuzzy dice hanging from the rear-view mirror, Winnie the Pooh floormats, ...

One day while I was doing a scheduled maintainance on the Jetta, I spoke to my sales manager and he told me the real "chick" models (models that more females own than males) is the Beetle, Eos, and

the Audi TT (this was an VW & Audi dealership).  A majority of the people who purchase Golf/Rabbit, GTi, and Jetta are young males; while a big majority of the Passat owners are family people.

ttdsgnr5, I hate to prove you wrong, but I am not sure why you praise Honda and Toyota so highly.  Don't get me wrong, they are very reliable but so are many other Japanese and European vehicles.  In my opinion, most Toyota and Honda are SUPER WAY OVERPRICED

for what they give to the buyer.  I know this for a fact and from my own experience.  When I first graduated from university, I went to take a look at then-brand-new 2004 Honda Civic Si sedan, they were asking

close to $26k for it; yet no alarm, no fog lamp, no leather, no MP3, ...

but for $3k less, I was able to get a much nicer and has all of the above features Mazda3 GT sedan.  That sedan serve me extremely well for three and a half years before I traded it in Dec '07 for the Jetta.

I did not trade it b/c it gave me problems or anything, just needed a better vehicle.  Again, when I was shopping for the new vehicle, I went to check out the competitors like the Honda Accord, Acura TSX, Mazda6 GT, but I did not look at the Camry as I am only 30 yrs old and I want a vehicle that is me, not my parents.  The Accord was asking for close to $40k with the options I wanted; yet it still lacks a few features that my Jetta which costs $12k less have as standard features.  The Acura TSX was okay, the con of that vehicle was how "fake" the leather seats compared to the leather on my Jetta.  I recently drove for 12 hours straight to Edmonton with two of my friends and we had no issue with being uncomfortable even under the hot summer sun; while I was beginning to feel uncomfortable after driving the TSX for a hour or two (Acura dealer let me take the sedan home overnight).

  6. Well to put it this way i've seen more guys driving a jetta than a girl, and also more old ladies than a girl, but in all it doesn't f*cking matter.

I've seen some badass jetta's that are turbo'd.

  7. While I agree with the first answer, consider the fact that based on the Jettas reliability record for the past 20+ years, they are crappy. At least they look good, are built well and are awesome to drive. Engines and trannies seem okay but in the typical German car fashion, they are known for having temperamental electrical systems and sometimes cooling systems too. Anyone who argues it is either in denial or they just accept that theirs are having the problems. After owning Toyotas and Hondas, visiting the mechanic for anything other than regular maintenance is a big deal to me.

  8. no

  9. Are you serious im a dude i own a jetta with a VR6 which is an awesome engine fast for a stock.

  10. Well, i'm getting one. and I'm a "chick"
