The kids ages are 5 and 8.

I'm just wondering if it will be too boring for them!

  1. My 7 year old son and my 4 year old daughter love the War Museum. There is a lot to learn, and quite a bit to see as well. They have a massive room full of old war time vehicles and planes which is extra cool. And a "bunker" where the kids can go in. It's def not boring at all.

The Children's Museum is Ok. My kids get a bit bored there to be honest! lol. Maybe we've just been there too often.

The Museum is Nature is very good. And they just finished their renos for this year.

  2. It is a very good museum but it might be a bit much for a 5 year old. Hopefully at 5 and 8 they have more child like interests than a long, unpleasant war. The Canadian Museum of Nature is a good one

    Victoria Memorial Museum Building (VMMB)

    240 McLeod Street

    Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

as is Canada Science and Technology (designed to appeal to youngsters and oldsters alike).

1867 St. Laurent Blvd. (at Lancaster Rd.) Ottawa  ON  CAN  K1G 5A3

And you cannot go wrong with the Canadian Children's Museum. See links below. It is a fast hop across the river in Quebec sounds far but is in fact very close.

    Canadian Museum of Civilization

    100 Laurier Street

    Gatineau, Quebec K1A 0M8

  3. No, it may expose them to images of violence and suffering that they don't nned yet, and will see plenty of in the future.

I took my kids to the Royal Canadian Mint (it was boring), Governor General's estate, The Parliament of course, the Waterbus tour, and last and best:  The Museum of Natural History as an alternative to the War Museum.  It was awesome!  Drive to Gatineau Park also for fresh air and lookouts.
