Is the water filtered in Puerto Aventuras?

My husband and I will be travelling to Puerto Aventuras next year and I'm wondering if the water is safe to drink. I know that there are many resort areas in Mexico now that are filtering their water and we had no problems in Playa Del Carmen or Puerto Vallarta. Has anyone been to Puerto Aventuras? We're staying at the Catalonia resort.

No. Water from the faucet is not filtered in Mexico so always go for bottled water, and the ice is always elaborated with filtered water in case you have that question too.

It could be, but I wouldn't take the risk. I'm mexican and I wouldn't drink water off the tap ANYWHERE, not even at a VERY fancy hotel. I suggest that you stick to bottled water.
