  1. No, it has sewage from the hotels.  Cancun and Isla Mujeres has the clearest blue water but what is on the land is truly awful.  Both places are run by drug lords.  The hotels are laundered money.  The prices of everything is sky high (especially Cancun).  There are drug dealers everywhere and the police victimize the tourists.  Either you get mugged by a ltttle gangster or mugged by the police or ripped off in a bad restaurant.  There are drunks everywhere and it is common to have your drink spiked by a weirdo.  Don't go there..

  2. Not always in P.V. as the summer rains turn the ocean water very muddy in color.

Cancun Cozumel area have the bluest always

  3. The water in Puerto Vallarta (ocean) is very clear as long as you do not have a river nearby. (In the rainy season).

However, There are beautiful beaches with no rivers that remain crystal clear all year long as it is: Playa Conchas Chinas,  Playa Garza Blanca, Playas Gemelas, Playa Las Animas, Majagua, Chimo, Los Naranjitos, etc. etc.

Of course, the best beaches in Mexico you can find are located in the Cancun zone.  Just spectacular.   It is the true Caribbean Sea.

    That´s it ! ! !

Please do not believe what  Estee. ta  says.  He does not know what he is saying.  I go to Cancun every three months and I believe he is totaly wrong.  Please contact me if you want any more information about Mexico.  My best to you.

  4. The water in PV is very clean; but not "blue".

The blue color in the water in the caribbean sea (Cancún, cozumel and all the riviera maya is the mexican caribbean) is derived from its poverty in organic matters, it has a gorgeus blue (turquesa, actually) color, very CLEAR to see the underwater as if it were an aquarium. Beautiful for scuba or snorkel. But it is not caused of its "cleaness".

Puerto Vallarta, in the Pacific (the other cost) has more organic matters in its waters (and therefore, more life), it is not as clear as the caribbean waters, but it is more plenty of life. The clearness is not related (in general) with the cleaness. The water in PV is CLEAN, but not CLEAR (only changes N and R, but the meaning is very different)

  5. Puerto Vallarta water is very clear and blue, but if you want to snorkle or scuba I would recomment Cozumel.
