Is the water turquoise in Cancun?

I have looked at pictures and they show bluish or turquoish water and I want to make sure if it is turquoise there. If it is how much turquoise?

It is absolutely gorgeous.  I would not call it turquoise...it is a clear blue that glows in the sun.

sometimes a little bit. sometimes alot. sometimes not. sometimes just blue.

the sand is white clear and soft , and the sea is clear as a swiming pool in some areas, you can spot marine life easely, bluish and turquoise is there...

NO! .............................. The water is crystal clear - just like anywhere else. The reflection off the water, however, is turquoise. And a very rich shade too!

The water has no color, however, the reflections go from light blue, turquoise to dark navy blue, it depends on where you look at it, from a boat you can see all the different shades...just beautiful!
