I live in England and recently the weathers been just gorgeous but the last couple of days it's been pretty rubbish and it's supposed to stay rubbish for another week, after that i don't know. I'm about to invest in an amazing summer dress but will the weather go back to a proper summer again? I'd love to know real facts about how the rest of the year is looking because I want to wear my summer dress loads but only if it's sunny enough

  1. HI GROOVY, All you have to do my dear is to put your dress on and give to a good wear in the house then that dress cannot say you did not give it a d**n good wear since you bough it. What do you say about that??. When you are ready to wear it just give me a call I will let you know how good it looks OK??.

  2. Its as good as it gets. Long term forecast not wonderful so wear the dress while you have the chance

  3. Me too! Monday looks the best I think!

  4. Coming from England myself, and being 23, in 23 years the BBC and others never seem to get the reports accurate.

Trust no-one when it comes to British weather. It could be sunny on Christmas day.

You're best to buy summer clothes and hope that at some point in your life you may see the British sunshine, whenever it decides to come!!

  5. I was born here in London in 1941, I'm now 67 and am living proof, if ever it were needed, that summers in UK are on average pretty c**p compared to further south, say in Paris, which sizzles in summer.

My partner and me were down in Paris a month ago and standing outside Notre Dame there's a temperature indicator and it read 32C - that's about 89 - 90F in English measurement.

So my advice, anyone in UK who wants some sunshine, head south.  And the best plan is to take a holiday late if posssible.  Reason, it extends your summer for a couple more weeks.

We're off to Sorrento at the end of August while it's still into the 80s down there and lucky if it's 65 or so here in UK.
