  1. Rigo did a great job of answering the question.  However, one thing Rigo forgot to mention is that if you didn't file a return this year, then you won't get a check.  The government went by your 2007 tax returns to determine who got checks and how much.

  2. And hood winking is just the beginning... when you do get it, you will see it will be HALF what you thought it would be.

  3. Mine was direct deposited into my bank account in May.  All of my office mates also received their rebate.

Perhaps a rebate is not actually due to you, and that's why you haven't received it yet?  Do you meet the eligibility criteria?

I know a few young college students who assumed that they were going to get a rebate, but didn't realize that they weren't eligible since their parents claimed them as a dependent.

You may also want to make sure that the IRS has your correct mailing address.  If you used direct deposit for your tax refund earlier this year, you'll want to make sure that the account is still open.  (The money will be deposited right back into that same account.)

My guess is that either you aren't actually eligible for a rebate, or you have changed contact info since you filed your taxes.  Everyone I know who was eligible for a rebate received theirs ages ago.

  4. I got mine.  And it was exactly what it was supposed to be.

  5. my wife and I got $843.00 end of May.

  6. Check the IRS.gov website for your receive date, if you haven't gotten it by 6 weeks after that date, then call the IRS. Depending on your social security number, yours may not be out yet.

But it is most definitely real, I got mine a week or two ago.

(Also if you don't make past a certain amount you will get half, or $300; depending on your situation, not everyone will get $600 -- families will get more.)

  7. If the words Tax and Government are involved, odds are very strong that it is a LIE.
