  1. No.

In Spanish, the color is "anaranjado" while the fruit is "naranja"  They have the same root, but the words themselves differ.

This is also the case in Portuguese:

    fruit:  laranja

    color:  alaranjado

    and in Italian:

    fruit:  arancio

    color:  arancione

In Dutch, the two words are nothing alike.  The fruit is "sinaasappel" while the color is "oranje"

  2. Could be. In Polish it is:

    Fruit: Pomarancz

    Colour: Pomaranczowy

which would be like in English; Orange and Orange-ish. So i think it could be possible that the colour is related to the fruit in most languages.

Im curious to the answer to this too now.

  3. No. In Hindi the colour of orange is known as 'naarangi'.
