bloodclaat ORIGINALLY refers to a feminine hygiene device/product that is no longer in use in Jamaica.

In common Jamaican patois use it doesn't have that meaning any more. Its just used to express EXTREMES of one kind or the other.

NON-JAMAICAN CURSE -

In the same way a valley girl may say "talk to the hand" as she puts her hand up in someoen face to tell them to shut up, a jamaican chick will spin around and tell someone to "talk to mi Bl***dclaat back"....to rudely dismiss the person talking to her.

"Goodaz fi dem" basically means that you are "a better or hotter woman than them". Its like saying you are better than the chick trying to chat to you, so you dont owe her any respect at all.

No it's not the same.

I can't give you a very accurate defintion of the word,(because growing up I always thought it was 'blood cloth'...which refers to what women use during their period.... and I can very well be wrong). It is a curse word, but it does not have the same meaning as the F word.

If Matterhorn wanted to use the F word in his song he would have.....and then the song wouldn't sound so right.

no...it's really not the same. The word "bloodclaat" doesn't have a difinitive meaning and is mostly used for emphasis. The two words can be used interchangably in SOME instances...like the one in the Matterhorn song; but the reality is that the word extends much further than just that and can be used appropriately in almost any situation.

Yes, the word "bloodclaat" when used, is usually use for emphasis, it doesn't really have any meaning, I've heard that it means a cloth that is used for a woman's menstruation. The word can be used in such a way that it seems to mean different english curse words, it depends on when it is used, and how it is said, like you know that a question is a question because the asker sounds different when they ask the question, so, to me, it's basically the same thing.

Bloodclat is basically a caribbean pronounciation of the woods Blood Cloth, and back in the day before tampons & maxi pads, a cloth was used to contain a woman's mestrual blood. Naturally, being called a tampon is offensive, and thats where the cuss-word comes from.

Other variations, like Bumba Clot or Rass Clot mean "@sswipe" and they carry more or less the same connotation.
