No. The World's Fair was held across the span of a few years back in the late 1800's to early 1900's. It's now called the World Expo.

As previously mentioned, they're called World Expos now. They definitely are not every year, but there does not appear to be a regular schedule. The last few decades seem to average one every 3-4 years.
