if you mean literally one day's difference then no, today is spiralling downward every day

if you mean like a few decades ago type of yesterday then yes, less discrimination, better medical care, more knowledge of harmful activites to ourselves and the environment

Better is relative. Each generation has its benefits and its draw backs. And what is true for you and I probably is not true for someone in Tibet or Somalia or wherever.

Personally, I don't think so. It may be to some people though. I can't think of anything big that has happened since yesterday which would make the world a better place.
