LoL. They said that with the Millenium, 2000 on New Years Eve. And I watched the ball drop glued to the TV with reporters scared, expecting to say good bye cruel world, nothing happened. You can't always pay attention to the media in those things because if they don't have a story they make things up. The only thing that is of concern is the Sun developing Sun spots at the moment because it's orbit has changed. That is the sign of Sun Spots. What does that mean for us?? Greater chances of Solar storm activity that we can see in which will disrupt our telecommunications temporarily. It's expected to be an event in the next couple of years. Maybe that is what they are talking about from Scientists discovery. It's causing a bunch of hype in the sense oh this could be deadly blah blah blah. It's just exaggerated. It happens every 40 years and we're two years from the 40 year mark. Other than that I haven't heard of anything like the world is coming to an end in the next couple of years. Unless maybe you know something we don't?? Ehhh, regardless, anything can happen that is why you have to live in the moment.

Yeah there is that theory on the Mayans in 2012, but it's nonsense because they didn't believe the world would last that long which is why their calendar is only to 2012. they are basing it off of old history methods and old math. You can't predict the future.

the only world that will end fairly quickly, is mine ..and yours, since we don't even last that long. The earth will keep spinning 1000+ years.

Why do you have to believe in such baseless stupid rumours? There's no scientific reason to believe that there is going to be any such catastrophe in near future. The science of all branches of study has advanced a lot and the mankind never had so much of knowledge about the solar system, the galaxies and the universe in general. ......I am not suggesting that everything has been explored by science till now......in fact, the known areas are much less than the unknown portion. Even then there shouldn't be any such baseless belief , like what you are telling. This world will end some day. But with the available  knowledge of today , we know it very well that su`ch event  won't take place during the next several centuries.

If at all anything happens that is unknown to us with our known science , then there is nothing to worry about .....because, that will happen in just twinkling of an eye.....a massive extra terrestrial body colliding with the earth may destroy everything on the surface of the earth . But , that is very unlikely to happen right now so far as we know through our knowledge of science .

The mayans predicted it. We shall see.
