The world as in Earth?  Nope.  Not a chance.  At least not for about 5 billion years, then yes, it will burn.

The human race?  Could be.  Civilization as we have created it over the last century depends completely on oil.  As reserves diminish prices will rise.  Prices of food will increase since food production and transportation uses oil.  This will lead to starvation among the poor. Anarchy might result.  If oil runs out and no alternatives have been put in place, the entire system will collapse.  A number of countries have actually instituted wind and solar programs.  The US studies the problem over and over and over.  I'm sure that when a plan is finally decided on it will cost far more than predicted, it benefit rich corporations who will have bribed the president and congress, and it probably wont work.

Yes- Our understanding of stellar mechanics show that the world will both burn and probably crash (out of its orbit) when the sun goes asymptotic.
