I know it has to come some time but if scientist are predicting that its gonna end why are they not doing anything to better up the chance of stopping it. I know this is a stupid question but if its gonna end I think we should do something about it.

  1. No.  It isn't scientists who are predicting it.  It is just another one of the doomsday predictions that have been going on throughout history.

The mythical Planet X/Niburu had been predicted by the hoaxers for 2003, then when it failed to show up, they just moved it out to 2012 to coincide with the end of a cycle of the Mayan Calendar.  Since the Mayans couldn't even predict the demise of their own civilization, they were wiped out and no new cycles were added.

The yellow alert that was issued in 2001 for the 2029 approach of the asteroid 2001 MN4 (later named Apophis) was canceled when they added more points to its orbit and found that it isn't going to hit us.

The supposed galactic alignment was actually for 1998 and in 2012 it will be 6 degrees off from alignment.  Also, due to the great distances involved, the gravitational pull if ALL the planets lined up would be far less than that of our moon, to say nothing of the vast distances between our solar system and the rest of the galaxy.

Polar shift – this is happening all the time. And we don’t notice.  A complete 180 degree reversal occurs over a period of thousands of years.  There was a 6 degree shift when they had the undersea earthquake that caused the tsunamis.  We wouldn't have known it happened if not for the scientists detecting it.

I haven't found a single reliable scientific site that says anything is expected to happen.

  2. yes it will.....and it is not a stupid question...

  3. everything ends eventually.

the best you can do is be responsible, treat people well, respect yourself and others, and do your part in the fight against pollution and hatred.

other than that, "Don't worry, be happy!"

  4. The world, the solar system, and the Universe will all end one day. The Earth will be gone in a few billion years, when our Sun expands and engulfs all of the planets.

The Milky Way will be gone in a few trillion, trillion years - and the entire universe will be gone in many times that amount of time.

The slow winding down of the Universe is inevitable, and no science can stop it.

  5. December 21, 2012.  Eat, drink and be merry.

  6. Not only is it a stupid question - it's a misinformed question as well.  No scientists are predicting the world will end anytime soon.  Check your facts.

  7. It will come to an end in about 2-2.5 billion years when the sun begins to fuse helium in its core instead of hydrogen as this will cause the temp on earth to rise approx 150 to 200 degrees C which will end all life as the oceans boil away. You cant stop a  star from undergoing its normal life cycle. After the sun fuses helium there will still be approx 2 billion yrs left to the sun before it dies as a white dwarf.
