Is the world really going to end 2012?

This prediction is based on someone's supposed calculation of the Mayan Calendar. If people would understand the Mayan calendar better they would also know that the Mayans did not predict destruction of the planet; just that the solar system that our planet is in a specific place in a type of alignment with the constellation scorpio. From these ond other Mayan interpretations it is believed that this alignment happens approx. every 27,000 yrs. But I have issue with this information because I believe that creation of this world and the Universe as we know it was approx. 6,000 yrs ago. The Mayans made very good calculations of our system's movements and only calculated that this alignment would happen at a given time; however they did not predict massive destruction; only that there would be change because they believe that this alignment puts our system in a gas jet out of the center of our galaxy, for approx. three days. I put my belief in our creator, no longer in humanity's agendas & often mistaken theories.

Scientists don't expect anything out of the ordinary to happen in the year 2012, or specifically on the date December 21, other than the solstice, which happens every year.

None of the "predicted" happenings for 2012 hold up under close scrutiny. "Planet X" and "Nibiru" simply don't exist. The Mayan calendar ends a cycle, but there were no predictions of the end of the world. The Sun doesn't line up with the galactic centre; it's 6 degrees off. No asteroids or comets are actually predicted to hit Earth.

All of this stuff was put together by crackpots in order to promote their books and TV shows, and shamelessly promoted by the History Channel. Don't take any of it seriously!

The world has existed for 4.5 billion years.

Life of some kind has been around for 3 billlion years.

Humans have been around for a million years.

Modern humans survivied 100,000 years of the last ice age.

Why the heck would you think it is all going to end?

Only God knows when the world will end because He created it. Anyone who claims to know, don't believe them. Why not adopt the motto, "Live each day as if it were your last"? No, all the 2012 disaster stuff is all lies, fraud, foolishness and abject superstition.  It is intended to promote faked up documentaries on Fox TV, faked up books and faked up DVDs and to direct traffic to fraudulent websites.

2012 is just the revealing of the 'antichrist' or the 'man of lawlessness' at the middle of what Jews and Christians call the 7 year Tribulation. Satanists and many pagan cultures from every corner of the world all throughout history have celebrated this like  the Sumerians, Babylonians, Cherokee, Hopi, Chinese I-Ching (confirmed by Terence McKenna), Mayans (Pacal Votan), Egyptians, Celts, etc. This evil event is called "the abomination that causes desolation" that will be set up in the Jewish Temple’s Holy of Holies when the antichrist is imbued with the power of satan himself. Congrats. You are the fifth person I've seen today to ask this question... but I'm sure there's more.

No the world will NOT end in 2012. There is no scientific evidence, much less any scientific proof. They can't even get their story straight on *how* the world is supposed to end.

One site says that Nibiru will crash into Earth, while the other says that it will just block the sun. Another one says it will orbit Earth. None of those will happen.

One site says that all planets will align on one side of the sun, while another says that all planets will line up opposite to the Earth. Another says that Jupiter and Saturn will be directly in alignment side to side in Earth. Too bad its impossible for planets to completely align, seeing as they orbit on different plains.

You won't die because of the 2012 doomsday, but I can't promise you that you won't die for some other reason.
