  1. There was and will always be but we can improve it.

  2. There is a ton of racism in the world. For just a snippet i advise you to go to the Cultures and Groups part of Yahoo and see the ridiculous questions asked by some of the most racist ignorant people on the web.

  3. There is definately alot of racism in this world...just look at some of the questions people ask....type in any race and you shall see what ridiculous opinions people have on various ethnicities...black people getting the worst of it on most occasions...

I feel so disheartened when i come on here, because occasionally i'll come across well hidden racist questions, that make me realise...the world will never change...racism is eternal *sighs*

  4. there might be some, mostly old people from the 60's that are, but every white guy i know wants obama to be president and every celebrity in hollywood does too. i think racism is going away now more, once obama is president black people could never use the race card again. its not as bad as it was 10 or 20 years ago.

  5. yes, and I think it will always be that way

  6. Yes there is a lot of racism, but it is getting better.  I was very idealistic when I married my husband (he's black and I'm white), and I truly thought that because I'm not racist and my friends aren't racist that everything was hunky dorry and there were just a few fringe idiots but that was it. Don't get me wrong.  I do believe it is getting better with each generation and will dissipate eventually (at that point the ignorant people will find another reason not to like each other).

I hate to say it but it is alive and well and I see it regularly.  I hear comments that people normally wouldn't make in front of me if they knew about my husband or my kids, then when I call them on it and tell them they say "oh well I didn't mean it THAT way", and try to talk themselves out of the hole they dug.  When they tell me they didn't mean it "THAT" way I tell them they meant it just like they said it.
