Is their a British version of S.W.A.T? What is it called?

My bf was wondering if anyone new if there was a verion of S.W.A.T in U.k,he is very interested in this specialization of policing.S.A.S ?

  3. Slow down Sarah, your bf has got it all wrong. The S.A.S. is military and is British special forces. The armed police you see in Britain are called SO19 and are not attached to the military at all. These officers are trained in the use of firearms from pistols though to sniper rifles and other specialist weapons (gas, tasers, etc)

  4. armed police i think there called. there never really needed we don't have many guns over here
