There are ETFs that trade on the American Stock Exchange. SPY is the most notable.  There are also ETFs that contains stocks that are traded on the AMEX.  For example CUB is a member of the Ishares Russell 2000 index fund.   I suspect that the Russell 2000 index fund contains other AMEX shares also. Since most AMEX stocks are small cap stocks (1037 out of a total of 1074 and 993 are under 1 billion) your chance of hitting on an ETF that contains a large portion of AMEX stocks would be perhaps to buy Royce Micro-Cap Trust, an ETF with ticker RMT.
