  1. with advancement in eye care technology, there are now a myriad of contact lenses and eye care products to choose from.

You might want to try a different brand of contact lens solution.   There are lots of kinds that help retain moisture.

If that doesn't work, you can ask your optometrist to fit you with a different brand of contact lens such as one that allows more oxygen to your eyes.  You might also try a daily disposable contact lens (you have a new pair everyday.  In the morning, put in a fresh, clean pair; at night throw it out)

In the mean time, try to use a rewetting drop made especailly for contact lens wearers to keep your contacts moist.  I prefer the ones without preservatives because then you can use them as often as you like without any side effects.

  2. Ask your doctor about the prescription, contact friendly, stronger and longer lasting eye drop called Freshkote. I highly and personally suggest it.

  3. My optometrist told me that the only kind are the clear lenses that offer more oxygen to the eye. Apparently, color contacts seem to suffocate the eye as this is a common problem. Check out Silicone Hydrogel contacts. It allows more oxygenation. The link is listed below.

  4. There are lenses on the market designed to help reduce dryness, most notable Proclear and Acuvue Oasys.  That being said, there could be other forces at work.  If you are currently wearing a silicon hydrogel lens, i.e., Ciba Focus Night and Day, O2optix, purevision, biofinity, acuvue advance or oasys and you are using a solution that isn't compatible with them, you could be having a problem of a different sort. (I would use optifree or clear care with these).

Unfortunately, there are people who just don't have enough tears to support a lens period.  I am one of those.
