I am trying to connect the sound from a Playstation 3 which is connected to a HD TV with a HDMI cable. I have a S/PDIF jack on the TV. I want the sound from the HD TV to go to a Hi-Fi system which does not have a S/PDIF jack, only AV jacks for sound in.

  1. Check to see if the TV has output jacks. They should be standard RCA's and would be red and white. Just connect that to the stereo. I can't imagine any HDTV without them. I work for Radio Shack, and every new TV has audio output jacks. Look a little harder. If not, simply plug a cable into the headphone output and feed that into your stereo system. As an alternative, check the play station for analog outputs.

  2. I'm wondering the same thing...man, it's been months without my surround sound, i'm fiendin
