  1. I just returned from a trip to Italy.  Every meal I had had wine as a staple.  There are supermarkets and stores that sold wine/liquor everywhere.  And the costs were very reasonable to very expensive.

I found almost all the wines recommended to me as I visited each region was good or excellent.

    Good Luck and have fun!

  2. There are some stores that just sell liquor - but there aren't state run like in the US and maybe in other countries. Your best bet, and fun to do, would be to go to a supermarket. You'll find a good selection of booze, beer and wines. The bigger the supermarket the bigger the selection.

Wine goes from 1.50 Euro (in a box) to Euro 60.00 +.

Booze - basic grappa, whiskey, gin and brandy from Euro 6.00 on up.

Beer - from Euro 0.80 for 4.5 proof (in a 66cl bottle) on up to Euro 1.50 (or more for the imports)

  3. Yes... liquor stores are everywhere and it costs a lot less than it does here.  I can't tell you exactly how much because you haven't specified what kind of liquor... like here it depends on what and the brand.  If you're looking for pure alcohol, that is available in Italy, which isn't available here in the states.

  4. Every food shop, supermarket, superstore sell liquors; liquor store are more hard to find, but sure you can. Cost vary a lot according to kind, producer, quality, etc.

Cheaper may start from less than 3 Euro (1 or 0.75 litre, generally).

  5. I have to say I had a different experience than many of the other people who responded.  My husband drinks liquor, I drink wine.  I was able to get wine everywhere.  My husband had a more difficult time getting liquor, and especially a good mixed drink that he was used to.  I just don't think they are liquor drinkers there.  We saw two liquor stores in 10 days, but you can go to the supermarket and buy liquor.  Depending on the size of the supermarket depends on the type of liquors they will have.  He likes Skyy and we weren't able to find it in any restaurant or supermaket except when we were in Rome.

  6. we don't have liquor stores like in the states, becouse is easy to get a licence to sell alcool.

You can fin liquor in every food shop, supermarket, bar ecc.

Usually big supermarket they have a big sectio of liquor  very similar to american liquor stores.

Another difference between usa and italy about alcool, you can drink outside on the street, and there's not age limit for drinking.

Getting drunk in italy is not considered cool at all.

    cost:

(at supermarkets) good wine from 5 to 10 euro

    a liquor around 12/14 euro

    ciao
