I'm in Victoria at the moment and would like to move up to Sydney for a year or so to study. Is there some organizations that can help me look for accommodation? I don't know if centrelink can either..Any help would be appreciated!

  1. Shame you didnt ask when I was at work. I work for Family Services (Illawarra).

I suggest you visit http://www.housing.nsw.gov.au/ if you find you need assistance once you get here call Family Services they can send you on the right track.

  2. Centrelink  don't find accomodation for people or assist  people wanting to move interstate. Rental properties are in high demand and very pricey in Sydney.

For online realestate sites in Sydney go to  domain.com.au

    realestate.com.au

Also look in Sydney newspapers for accommodation or share accommodation.

  3. You can get rental assistance from centrelink if you live out of home. This will only pay part of your rental though as Sydney rentals are very expensive.

You might want to contact the school/uni you are enrolling to ask ask for advice and help regarding accomodation.
