  1. Concur with first author mucinex, entex or some expectorant would likely help, certainly plenty of fluid intake would help decrease the viscosity of the mucus.  I strongly recommend that you speak to your ENT before attempting to find a remedy on your own.

  2. lime with honey or lemon with honey, in tea or on a spoon together.  Or gargle salt water or listerine but that may sting.

  3. Mucinex is probably the best out there for drying up phlegm. Or you can ask the pharmicist. There are also generics available.

  4. mucinex, but dont take it for too long or it will no longer work for u. my mom told me that its easy for ur body to build up and immunity to that particular drug fast.

  5. Most antihistamines and expecterants akin to throat sprays and cough syrups have some phlem control.  I personally like the Vicks throat spray if I ever have a really bad phlemy flu.

If it's chronic phlem as from smoking, then you might need to be careful about overmedicating, and should focus on the root of the problem, ie: reducing the amount of smoking.

If it's morning phlem, try gargling warm salt water.  It really helps get that gunk out.

  6. If you just had your tonsils removed 8 days ago, the phlegm is your body's natural way of protecting the tissue as it heals. Once you're healed that'll go away. I wouldn't take anything for it, you don't want to rush your healing process.
