Is their any other way to retrive trouble codes from the ECU OTHER THAN THE DIAGNOSTIC PORT ON OBD 1 GM

Question

As I have asked I have a 95 Century 3.1 with OBD 1 I know how to retrieve the codes on OBD 1 the problem I have is the port to retrieve the codes has only 3 wires none are side by side for you to use the key to put the ECU in diagnostic mode to retrieve the codes is their any other way to retrieve the codes from the ECU other than the diagnostic port under the dash.
