well d**n,i never even thought about beer being not vegan.i heard a long time ago that guiness has beef fat in it,i thought that was absurd,but maybe its true.now im reading that some beers have gelatin??wtf?surely crappy beer like,say bud light,which tastes like p**s water couldnt possibly have gelatin in it?right?

There are lots of vegan beers.  The major American brewers are vegan (Coors, Bud, Miller.)  German beers are all vegan and Heineken is, too.  Unfortunately, reading the label isn't very informative; they don't actually list ingredients and aren't required to say whether animal products were used in fining.  And Kosher certification wouldn't be a sure thing either as isinglass, a fish product, is the most common culprit; to the best of my knowledge fish is considered parve under Kosher law (hence Kosher gelatin coming from fish.)

Anything certified kosher should be vegan.  If you don't ask the brewery there is no way to find out.  Some use gelatin(pork non-kosher) and others don't.

Just read the ingredients list. Most beer is vegan unless it's utilizing an ingredient produced by an animal source. Like honey. :)

I'm not sure about vegan beer... most mainstream beer would certainly not do. However, I will see what I can find to help and get back to you.
