Is there 2 first episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S?

I always thought the first episode was the one where Rachel ran out on her wedding and showed up at the coffee house in her wedding dress, but my friend told me today that they watched a Friends episode where Chandler is interviewing for a roommate and Joey is picked,(whats the name of this episode) so wouldn't that episode have to be before the one where Rachel runs in on her wedding dress because in that epiosde Joey already lives with Chandler?

The first one is when Rachel runs in the coffee house.However there is another serious going back to the past when Chandler did pick Joey to be his roommate but that is not the first eps

you are right that is the first one the one your friend is talking about is a flashback it is series 3 and its called the one with the flashback

the joey chandler episode is a flash back. the pilot episode or 1st is the one where rachel turns up at the coffee house

your actually both right in series one the first episode called "the pilot" is where Rachael has run out of her wedding to Barry, and decides to stay with Monica.

the one when joey moves in is season 3 "the one with the flashback" which sees the guys reminisce,after Janice asks have any of the guys slept together or almost, when Joey gets his interview he thinks chandler is g*y, and its Mr Heckles tells the original room mate that he is living with Chandler, thus leaving the gap open for Joey to move in
