Question:

Is there ANY way to get rid of roaches???

OMG please help! I moved into this apartment in November and started seeing roaches in early spring. It is a 4-unit building attached to 2 townhomes on one side. I complained to the landlord and he sent out an exterminator. I stopped seeing them for 3 months (although our shared basement looks like the roach morgue.) But now when I let my dog out at night I can see them outside in the grass crawling toward our apartment. I've noticed new dead ones in the basement and I just saw a small "baby" one in my kitchen. I'm going to cry! I've never had roaches in any place I've ever lived and I'm so disgusted! People keep telling me its "almost impossible" to get rid of them. Does anyone have ANY ideas???

If not - does anyone know if roaches are a legal reason to break a lease?

  3. yes cause that means the place is nasty and horrible too live in u never know Wat else is there and u can get a professional bug killer to bomb  the apartment or just move

  4. i live in an apartment and u cant go ANYWHERE whithout seeing a roach!! i called the exterminator but it didnt work! i use Roach Killer! i still see them a few times, but they die right away!

  5. same problem in a d**n apartment!

yea i ask my landlord and he didnt do a d**n thing.

so i took it into my own hands.

go to home depot and get some roach spray

or roach traps. it really works.

    good luck, and dont cry!

  6. Most people use boric acid to kill roaches but since you have pets that may not be the best option. Firstly try to locate specific places other than doorways, windows etc. that they could be coming from. In my case there was a small hole in the ceiling of our bathroom that they used to get from another apartment to ours. Once we blocked those off, I used a 1/2 and 1/2 solution of vinegar and water and sprayed outside my doorways and window ledges. You might have to respray every few weeks or so but it's totally worth it.

As for roaches being a reason to break your lease, as long as your landlord is willing to send out an exterminator when you request it, I don't think you'll be able to break the lease. If your landlord refuses to address the problem you might be able to, but to be sure you can always look up renter's rights for your area.
