Is there ANYONE besides me that actually believes Phelps BEAT Cavic?

On Friday night (Saturday morning in Beijing) Phelps beat Cavic by .01 of a second. Lots of people seriously doubt this. I seem to be one of the few people who believes Phelps had won.

However, there is PROOF that Phelps had won the race. This video shows frame by frame the end of the race and clearly shows Phelps touched first.

If you don't think its good quality, the same photos are on sports illustrated websites, such as here: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0808/oly.phelps.sequence/content.5.html

You can watch an entire slide show there that clearly shows Phelps touched first. The officials also slowed down an underwater camera to 1/10,000 of a second and it clearly showed Phelps had touched first. The Serbian officials and swim coach saw that and even admitted that Phelps had won.

  1. i think if you touch the wall first, then you win.

and phelps touched the wall first.

if anyone thinks its unfair that phelps has long arms and could touch the wall sooner, then their country's team needs to have faster swimmers :D

  2. I saw it and the replays, he touched the electronical pad that stops the clock first.

  3. i know i just rewatched tonight

    :)

  4. Just look at this:

There's no way Phelps beat Cavic!!!

    CAVIC BEAT PHELPS!!!

    GLORY TO SERBIA!!!

  5. of course he did! they have huge amazing high tech computers on the wall that knows when someone touchs it! he soooo won!

  6. its true that phelps did beat cavic but i believe cavic COULD have beatin phelps if only he had stretched out a little longer, cavics head was in front of phelps but phelps touched the touch sensitive pad first.

  7. I believe Phelps got in there just before Cavic did, but I was thinking, was it possible for Cavic to touch a part of the wall that was not covered by the sensitive pad or is that whole black section on the wall sensitive and not just the center? (Sorry for that whole run on sentence!)

  8. I believe he did... people think things like that by what THEY saw, it was based on highly watched technology..cavic didn't win because he glided Phelps was smart enough to do a half stoke... people can't see one one hundredth of a second PHELPS DID FINISH FIRST!!!!!
