Is there Brown Recluse,Black Widow and other poisonous spider in the phillippines???

  1. the brown recluse is only the size of a quarter. and if it is black with a red kind of gituar shape then it is a black widow. im sure there are poisionous spiders there but.......


  2. Not to worry, no Brown Recluses or Black Widows in Phillapines, but there are relatives you don't want to run into.  If you see a big spider in your home, I would suggest however going to http://www.brown-recluse.com  and you can order sticky traps for really cheap.

    Sticky traps work best because pesticides do not kill all spiders, whereas once a spider puts one little part on the sticky trap, he's done for and will never get away, that should solve the problem :)

  3. I know that black widows and brown recluses do not live in the phillippines, as they are North American species.  However, black widows have relatives across most of the world, but I am still not sure about the Phillippines.   As I recall there are a lot of species of trap door spiders, tarantulas, and orb weavers in the Phillippines, but none of them are particuarly dangerous.
