  1. Sure there is.  there is the Tour of Ireland taking place 27th. to 31st. August this year.  Go to website  irishcycling.com for all the info on cycling in Ireland.

  2. There is. It's run by the Irish Masochistic Society.

  3. Is this a riddle?  What has 4 corners and you cycle around it?  Hmmm....

  4. I never heard of this sorry.

  5. If it's a biking holiday rather than competitive cycling you're after, I'm afraid there's no official national cycleway network like there is in other countries. However, there are a couple of tour operators that oganise guided or self-guided tours (see link below). You could get them to send you some info and then use their itineraries to organise your own holiday, using the cheaper option of B&Bs.

There's a great page organised by cyclist Paul Kavanagh which gives suggested routes and rates the road quality/difficulty (linked).

Kelloggs also have done out some routes with downloadable maps which take in some beautiful parts of the country.

Good books are 'Round Ireland in Low Gear' by Eric Newby - its a bit dated but an indication of what to expect - and the Kingfisher Cycle Trail (Ireland).

    I like to bike...
