Is there a 'pay what you can' restaurant in Kansas City?

I read an article about SAME Cafe (So All May Eat). It sounds like such a amazing place. You only pay what you can afford, and if you have no money you volunteer your time. You also only order the amount of food you can eat, so there's less waste. And they buy local organic food. I'm wondering if there's a place like this in Kansas City. Anyone know?

  1. A what?  I have never heard of this nor do I think it is a good idea.  If you can't afford to go out to dinner then stay home and eat.
