  1. Back Bay and the South End are probably the most 'Bohemian/artsy' sections.  But that is not to say that there are not areas like that throughout the city.  For instance Commonwealth Ave near Boston Univ has it's stores and bars that are of that description.  Jamaica Plain does too.  Newbury Street has many art galleries (although I guess this is technically part of the Back Bay).

In Cambridge (outside of Harvard Square) there is also Central Square, Inman Square, and Porter Square.  In Somerville, there is Davis Square.

    Great places, all.

  2. Jamaica Plain

    South End

    Downtown Cambridge

    Harvard Square

  3. The South End in Boston, right next to the Back Bay area.
