  1. I don't think so, they're usually coded on the DVD and not skippable. Usually you can fast forward through them though.


  2. It is part of the specification of a DVD player that it respect content on the disc marked as unskippable.  However, region coding on discs is also part of this specification and it's not too hard to come by multi-region DVD players.

    I would suggest you look for multi-region players and try them out.  Often the modifications needed to make a player ignore region coding, will make it ignore other stuff too.

  3. I have not come across any such DVD player.

    I usually press the menu button to jump straight to the main movie menu.

    Sometimes, inserting the disc and pressing resume skips everything to the start of the movie (if that movie was not played sometime back because then it'll start from where you left it).

    If skipping and the above two tricks don't work, I just try to increase the speed (fast forward).

    Sometimes even the speed can't be increased, then I just go to the kitchen to get the stuff that I want. By the time I return, the irritating junk ends.
