Is there a Fish and Wildlife Service for Europe?

I am wondering if there is a FWS type service for europe or if you think they should establish one. i want to write a persuasive to the EFAH, but most of my stats and facts are US and FWS stats. so maybe i could write that they should get a FWS service type thing.

Wildlife management is generally a national, not European affair.  Each conuntry maintains their won relevantervice.  This is likely more approriate than a European agency, since terrestrial wildlife issues are primairly local.

Fisheries, on the other hand, are a very international issue, and agreements governing such predate the EU.  Currently, member nations adhere to the Common Fisheries Policy, governing fishing practices and quantities.  The Community Fisheries Control Agency, created in 2005, will be responsible for enforcement of this policy, though it mostly coordinates enforcement and compliance activities by the appropriate agencies within member nations.
