  1. I was stationed at HMS Gamecock in 1948/49. At that time it was the home of two RNVR Squadrons flying Seafires. I think it was 1831 and 1832 squadrons. It was also the training establishment for Fleet Air Arm air mechanics. A live Gamecock was paraded for "divisions" every week, and was kept in a cage behind the guard house.
